Icasa to hold additional hearings on community radio, television regulations

The public may share their insights on the draft regulations for community radio and television services in South Africa as the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) will be holding public hearings at its Sandton offices in Johannesburg on 23 July 2018. The communications authority had previously held public consultations across the country between May and June 2018.

The draft regulations were published on 6 April 2018 and interested stakeholders were asked to make written submissions. Icasa received 18 written submissions from different stakeholders including community broadcasters; four stakeholders are expected to make oral representations at the public hearings.
