GGHNP presents 80 Free State Tourism buddies with their certificates

The deputy Tourism Minister Elizabeth Thabethe attended the hand-over ceremony at which the Golden Gate Highlands National Park presented the Free State Tourism buddies with their national certificates. The Free State Tourism buddies programme is aimed at providing young unemployed people with skills that are beneficial in the tourism sector.

The programme was started by the department of tourism and is facilitated by GGHNP along with the provincial department of economic, small business development, tourism, and environmental affairs. One-hundred unemployed young people participated in the programme, which consisted of 30% theory and 70% practical training, and 80 of the 100 learners received qualifications which are fully accredited by CATHSSETA.
