Vergelegen Wine Estate wins Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences award

Vergelegen Wine Estate, a 324-year-old estate in Somerset West, was recently honoured with the Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences award at the 2025 Best Of Wine Tourism and Wine Tourism Ambassador Awards.

Spanning a 1,900-hectare private nature reserve, the estate offers guided environmental tours in a game drive vehicle, allowing guests to learn about its significant alien vegetation clearing project.

This initiative has facilitated the return of natural vegetation and wildlife, including indigenous Nguni cattle and rare species.

In addition to these experiences, Vergelegen provides wine tastings, cellar tours, and various dining options for visitors.
