Maldivian tourism industry in full swing amid state of emergency
The Maldivian Ministry of Tourism and tourism stakeholders in the country have issued a message of reassurance regarding the industry amid a state of emergency.
The ministry has stated that the emergency has had no impact on travellers and that all tourism and travel related businesses are operating as usual.
A 15-day state of emergency was imposed in the Maldives on 7 February 2018 by its president after a surprise ruling by the country's supreme court.
