International travellers asked to arrive earlier at SA ports of entry as DHA goes on strike
Following the announcement that Department of Home Affairs employees intend on embarking on strike action, the Flight Centre Travel Group has recommended that international travellers arrive at an earlier time when entering or leaving South Africa on 19 June 2017. The strike is expected to affect all ports of entry including airports, borders, and seaports.
International travellers have been asked to arrive for their respective flights at least four hours earlier to account for the longer waiting time at immigration; this only applies for international flights as there is no need to pass through immigration for domestic flights.
