Alcohol delivery app launches same-day grocery deliveries

South Africa's app-based liquor delivery service Quench has launched same-day grocery deliveries for Woolworths customers in the country's major centres. The new Quench delivery service supports and helps ease pressure on Woolworths' online delivery service that has been overwhelmed with orders.

According to Liam McCreedy, co-founder and managing director of Quench, there has been a significant increase in downloads and active users since the launch of the grocery delivery service.

"Whilst the country is under lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus, consumers are apprehensive to leave their homes and our contactless service provides them the peace of mind to order from the comfort of their couch," said McCreedy.
