Journ competition held at Rhodes
During September 2006, The South African magazine hosted a writing competition for third-year journalism students at Rhodes University. In only 750 words, the budding writers were required to compile an article that offered insight and illumination into one South African individual's life. Judges were Mondi award-winning journalist Helen Walne and The South African editor Sonya Schoeman. The competition was won by Sandringham resident and Rhodes Scholar Maire Bonheim.
