BBC Worldwide chief sacked
Jeff Taylor, the BBC Worldwide director of global marketing and brand development, who was arrested in Hong Kong in October in connection with fraud allegations, has been sacked "on grounds of breaching the company's employment policy on conflict of interests".
Mr Taylor was arrested amid allegations that the BBC's local merchandising agent, EMS, had accepted illegal payments to place orders with local suppliers of merchandising. He has not been charged with any offence, and is staying in Hong Kong to help the authorities in their investigation.
