DStv subscribers may look to streaming if prices surge
MyBroadband reports South African satellite TV consumers may soon start migrating to digital streaming services if MultiChoice hikes its DStv Premium subscription costs. Internationally, there's been a surge in the number of subscribers who forgo satellite TV in favour of streaming services like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
Data recorded by weekly American entertainment trade magazine Variety indicates that the number of people in the US who have cancelled pay-TV services will reach 33 million in 2018 - a 32.8% increase from 2017.
