R2K rebuffs Inxeba reclassification by Film and Publication Board
The Film and Publication Board's (FPB) X18 reclassification of Inxeba has been opposed by the Right2Know Campaign (R2K). The campaign deems the reclassification as a violation of the constitutional right to freedom of expression for the LGBTIQ community.
The X18 classification contains elements of sex, language, nudity, violence, and prejudice and is one categorisation short of a complete ban under FPB. The classification means that the film can only be screened in designated adult premises.
R2K demanded that the reclassification be scrapped and believes that a narrative should not be censored.
