SABC commemorates Youth Day with special activities on TV, radio stations
In commemoration of the 1976 Soweto Uprising, SABC 1 will be holding a special Youth Day symposium on its youth talk show, Daily Thetha. Young people between ages of 16 and 20 have been encouraged to apply on the SABC 1 website until 15 June 2017 to be included in the interactive studio audience at the Shine Studios in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
5FM will also be involved in Youth Day activities as eight young South Africans, between the ages of 15 and 20, will be given the opportunity to present some of the shows alongside the 5FM DJs between 6am and 6pm on 16 June 2017. Entrants should send a voice demo or voice note of no more than three minutes (and no bigger than 6MB) to az.oc.mf5@duolevil; the entry should also include a short motivation as to why they should be a 5FM DJ for a day.
Other radio stations involved in Youth Day activities include SAfm, RSG, Radio 2000, and MLFM.
