Load shedding continued this week with power utility Eskom implementing rotational power cuts nationwide. In other news sick notes came under scrutiny following former president Jacob Zuma's submission of a sick note to skip court, prompting the court to issue a warrant of arrest for the former statesman.

Finance Minister Tito Mboweni also dominated conversations on Twitter and the media this week, not for his cooking this time around, but by tweeting a photo of his hemp farm, taunting police to arrest him.
