Newspaper Design and Production Awards
Last week in the annual Newspaper Design and Production Awards Beeld won the Frewin Trophy, the top honour for urban dailies. Close on their heels were Die Burger and Cape Argus. In the lower circulation urban dailies Natal Witness came to the fore, followed by Business Day and The Mercury. Rapport won the Joel Mervis Trophy for urban weekend papers. City Press & Naweek Beeld came in second, and Weekend Argus on Saturday was third.
