Radio 2000 and Princess Alice Adoption Home shows love
Radio 2000 and the Princess Alice Adoption Home hosted a very successful Valentine's Day evening picnic. The event was held in aid of raising funds for the home's leaking roof. Through the support of Radio 2000 and the SABC Family Princess Alice Adoption Home was able to raise a substantial amount of money through a fantastic on-air campaign from various donors. "I send my heart felt thanks to each and every one of you for your kindness and support; without Radio 2000, we would have never had such a successful event," said Julie Vivier Manager at the Princess Alice Adoption Home.
The Princess Alice Adoption Home was established 77 years ago and is a home to 26 abandoned babies in the process of being adopted, and a place of safety for mothers or pregnant girls whose families have rejected them. Radio 2000 would like to thank all their sponsors who made the event such a huge success, all their loyal listeners for their contributions; the SABC Family for showing love and the Michael Angelo who is part of the Legacy Hotels and Resorts International Group for sponsoring the winner with a luxurious weekend stay in one of their presidential suites. Carlito Sheikh Radio 2000's station manager commented: "In a world of violence and crime where the issue of safety and security is on everybody's mind, Radio 2000 was fortunate enough to share in and contribute to the warmth and love displayed by our listeners, friends, advertisers, big business and our loyal staff."
