Jacaranda 94.2, SPAR's Carols by Candlelight

Jacaranda 94.2, in proud partnership with SPAR, again presented the phenomenally popular Carols by Candlelight in 2011 - kicking off the Festive Season at Supersport Park on 6 December and at Montecasino on 8 December to capacity crowds!

A stellar line-up consisting of Kurt Darren, Nianell, Romanz, Loyiso and The Holy Jerusalem Choir performed all-time favourite Christmas songs, as well as a few of their own hit songs, to a crowd of 23 500 strong at Supersport Park, with thousands more braving the rain at Montecasino.

The events, which offered something for everyone, raised a total of R92 500 for Jacaranda 94.2's Good Morning Angels through the sales of candles and songbooks - with another R10 000 donated by SPAR and R5 000 from Global Nissan.

In the spirit of giving, the entrance fee to these events was a new toy for an underprivileged child, and hundreds of boxes overflowed with toys for kids of all ages - all thanks to the warm hearted support from Jacaranda 94.2 listeners! These toys will be donated to Women and Men Against Child Abuse (WMACA), Hanna's Charity, Witkoppen School and Child Welfare Tshwane.
