2012 J&B Met launches at Cavendish Square
Cavendish Square's activities kick off this week with two new events:
The "Make Cavendish Square Fashion Different" challenge
Top local media personalities and bloggers were invited by Cavendish Square to participate in a challenge to create their ultimate J&B Met 'Made Different' ensemble, utilising merchandise available at the centre's fashion retailers. Participants in this challenge include:
* You magazine fashion editor, Althea McPhearson,
* Expresso's Liezel van der Westhuizen,
* Emma Jordan from www.ifashion.co.za,
* Kim Gray from www.kimgray.co.za,
* Jasna from www.fashionjazz.co.za
* Tanya Neft from E News Channel,
* Africa Melane from CapeTalk,
* Stacey Norman from KFM,
* Suga from Heart 104.9FM,

Each participant in the fashion challenge was given a Cavendish Square fashion retailer that they could use to select clothing for their J&B Met looks. These retailers include:
Aca Joe, Callaghan, Chica Loca, Jenni Button, Hilton Weiner, Holmes Brothers, Long Street, Marion & Lindie, Michiko London, Monsoon, Nicci Boutique, Slate, Stuttafords, The Space, and Vertigo.
The participants could finish off their outfits with accessories from Sass Diva and shoes from Queue shoes.
Vote for your favourite outfit on www.cavendish.co.za for a chance to win a set of double VIP J&B Met tickets plus a luxury stay at Aquila Private Game Reserve. This incredible reserve is famous for proactively setting up the Saving Private Rhino Fund to help in the fight against Rhino poaching. It is less than two hours drive from Cape Town and is the ultimate African safari getaway, boasting a four star establishment and an exceptional safari lodge. The reserve is 7500 hectares of southern Karoo and is home to the Big 5 legends of the wilderness: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. The competition runs from Friday 20 January and closes at 12 noon on Wednesday 26 January 2012. Terms and conditions apply - winners must be 18 years or older.
At the media launch function held at Cavendish Square last night, E News Channel's Tanya Nefdt was voted "Media Favourite", with Cape Times Fashion Forum's Charl Reineke and Good Hope FM's Carl Wastie coming in joint second place.
A "Gourmet Gallop" around Cavendish Square
Cavendish Square was the venue for the official launch of J&B Met. This exclusive event was held on Wednesday 18 January at not one but three of the centre's favourite restaurants. The Gourmet Gallop started at Col'Cacchio Pizzeria where the guests enjoyed tasty treats, J&B cocktails and Jordan wines. The gallop then moved to Ocean Basket for tasters of the restaurant's delectable sushi and seafood before finishing up at Primi Piatti for dessert, cocktails and their famous Jam Jars.
At this function, models showed off the outfits created by the participants in the "Make Cavendish Square Fashion Different" challenge.
Watch out for some more 'different' J&B Met/Cavendish Square activities later in the month, including the fabulous Cavendish Square Made Different Sale from 26 to 29 January 2012 and Made Different fashiontainment on the main stage at the J&B Met on 28 January 2012.
