Hat trick for Simonsig, duet for Groote Post at Top 100 wines
Announced at in the early part of this month, the Top 100 SA Wine Challenge has announced its winners for 2013. Established in 2011, the 2013 Top 100 Wines had a record entry of 440 of wines competing for a place amongst South Africa's finest.
Simonsig scored a hat trick with Simonsig Cuvée Royale 2007, one of only three Méthode Cap Classique wines to make the cut this year, Simonsig Red Hill Pinotage 2009 and Merindol Syrah 2010.
The Groote Post Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2012 and Groote Post Reserve Pinot Noir 2009 both are included in this list. The Sauvignon Blanc 2012 is available nationally at leading retailers and restaurants at a retail price of ±R120 and the Pinot Noir 2009 at ± R158.
