New cycle for 130-year-old laundry brand
The First Garment Rental division of Bidvest Laundry Group has acquired the 130-year-old Bardusch SA industrial laundry brand. It is a leading independent laundry, providing some 14 000 Cape Town workers, across 98 different client companies, with clean work clothes every month.
Hans Hunink, MD of Bidvest Laundry Group said, "The acquisition will help cement our position by giving the group a true national footprint."
Bardusch is an established brand known for its impeccable service, highly-skilled people and an impressive corporate customer base. Hunink believes that these two pioneers of the laundry industry with their combined wealth of knowledge will enable the development of creative solutions to industry challenges such as the rising cost of utilities.
According to Carl Gibbons of First Garment Rental, "Our operations will undergo certain structural changes aimed at seamlessly integrating our biggest asset to date into the Bidvest Laundry Group." Minimal retrenchments are expected.
