Oakley lenses now optimized for cycling, golfing and fishing
Oakley has launched a sport specific range for cycling, golf and fishing, with lenses that maximize vision with performance, specifically tailored to each sport.
"Oakley True Digital has revolutionized performance for athletes who require prescription correction and these new progressives take performance even further by optimizing vision for specific sports," said Oakley CEO Colin Baden. "This is the next step in the 2012 launch of authentic technologies that personalize lenses for athletes and sport enthusiasts with presbyopia."
Tailoring performance to the specific requirements of each individual sport goes beyond visual focus, and its heritage of innovation in the science of light filtering means the three new progressives are further enhanced with sport-optimized lens colours. Golfers will be able to better track the ball, whether it is against a blue sky or golf green. Cyclists will enjoy improved comfort with less eye-fatiguing glare on all-day rides. Reflected glare can be a major factor in fishing, so the tuned lens colour balances light transmission while polarized lens technology cuts glare to deal with the intense midday sun faced in deep-sea fishing.
Additional optimization includes Oakley Stealth AR to reduce back surface reflections and improve overall lens clarity, as well as front-side mirror coatings that reduce glare and balance light transmission to optimize vision while offering aesthetic enhancement. Edge finishing is available to give the sport-specific progressives a fresh look of originality.
