The free-to-air television network's new office is a result of the USD22.5m cash funding it received from a consortium of investors earlier this year. USD1.8m alone has been spent on developing the studios technical capabilities to include; two production studios, six edit facilities and four final control centres which will allow TVAfrica to simultaneously broadcast four independent TV channels to its 26 operating Anglo and francophone African countries.
In addition to beaming the games live across the African continent, the world cup will also be presented from TVAfrica's new offices with Louis Karpas as the main host. Already, the free-to-air station's new HQ has started broadcasting the first African (excluding South Africa) live interactive education channel hosted by education supremo William Smith.
Dave Kelly, chairman of TVAfrica, said: "TVAfrica's new studios have been fully digitised to ensure the quality of our broadcast meets world class standards. This is good news for our viewers, investors and, most importantly, our advertisers. Our new facilities are world class."
