MSC Cruises announces 2015/16 itinerary
MSC Sinfonia is currently undergoing a major revamp, which will be completed by end of March 2015. The ship will return for the start of the South African Summer season on 25 October 2015, extending through to 6 May 2016, when she will depart from Cape Town on a 22-night northbound west coast cruise to Venice.
The MSC Sinfonia southbound grand voyage is scheduled to follow the popular east coast route from Genoa to Durban for the first time in five years. The ship will depart Genoa and pass through Civitavecchia (Rome), Katakolon, Greece, the Suez Canal, Safaga, Egypt, the coastal Jordanian city of Aqaba, Port Victoria, Seychelles, Port Louis, Mauritius, La Possession, Reunion and, finally, into her main base Durban, the route offering a unique and scenic cruise experience to all on board.
"The 2015 season has been launched earlier than normal so that the new and improved MSC Sinfonia can be showcased and promoted on board the MSC Opera throughout the current season, which is due to commence in Cape Town on 28 October, 2014," noted Allan Foggitt, Marketing and Sales Director of MSC Cruises.
"Cruising remains one of South Africa's best value and most popular holiday options, and the return of the MSC Sinfonia will be well received by our regular cruisers among whom she has built up a strong following during her previous visits to our shores. The early launch also makes it possible for us to increase the advance booking discount to 50% to reward those who book early and the popular kids under 18 cruise free still applies."
Stretching
The MSC Sinfonia is set to undergo stretching in January to March 2015 as part of MSC's Renaissance programme, The 23.7m additional length being added to the ship will offer more balcony cabins, new dining areas, and larger open passenger spaces. A new dedicated area for children of all ages is sure to please, as well as the addition of a fantastic new Spray Park - a fun-packed wet zone with interactive jets, slides and water features. There will also be a specially designed disembarkation bay for zodiac landings - relevant to the local season destinations. MSC Sinfonia will be the second of the MSC Cruise ships to go through the programme and will emerge bigger and more beautiful than before.
MSC Sinfonia will once again offer the popular Mozambique three- and four-night cruises with Portuguese Island, Inhaca and Maputo making up the majority of the seasons destinations. Festive Season itineraries include a seven-night Mozambique and Madagascar cruise and, for New Year, an 11-night cruise to Reunion and Mauritius.
