Wilderness Explorations, the guided journey division of Wilderness Safaris, is delighted to announce the launch of a new Exploration for 2015 - Desert Dune Safari.

This fully guided 9-night/10-day adventure will take guests through some of Namibia's varied and remote desert areas, experiencing a diverse range of activities along the way. Guests will enjoy sea- and land-based wildlife viewing, rhino tracking, views of the secluded and dramatic coastline of the Skeleton Coast and a scenic flight from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund (weather permitting).

"This exploration was designed to make the most of Namibia's vast and contrasting landscapes", says Dave Bennett, Wilderness Safaris' chief sales officer. "Many of these areas are rarely explored by others, so guests will be able to experience an unparalleled sense of remoteness while enjoying the spectacular scenery and desert-adapted wildlife."

Running between May and mid-November, the Desert Dune Safari covers the unique desert areas of Sossusvlei, the Skeleton Coast and the Palmwag Concession and is led by skilled, knowledgeable Wilderness Safaris guides who will bring the magic of each area alive. Guests are accommodated in a range of lodges, including several Wilderness Safaris camps, such as Desert Rhino Camp and the newly opened Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp.

As well as the Desert Dune Safari, Wilderness Explorations offers three additional exceptional journeys:

Diverse Namibia (9 nights/10 days - Adventurer Exploration) - An active adventure where guests explore key areas of Namibia including Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland and Etosha.

The Great Wilderness Journey (10 nights/11 days - Discoverer Exploration) - This Exploration combines the Victoria Falls (Zambian side) with a safari exploring northern Botswana, from the wetlands of the Okavango Delta to the floodplains of the Linyanti.

Botswana Summer Encounter (9 nights/10 days - Discoverer Exploration, December - March) - A journey that reveals the life-filled summer season of Botswana, starting in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and travelling to the Okavango Delta and Linyanti before ending on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls.

Wilderness Explorations are fully-serviced cross-country safaris that cater for small groups (between two and eight guests) on a scheduled basis, or are tailor-made for private groups. A highly trained and experienced guide leads the Exploration from beginning and end, sharing their in-depth knowledge of the areas in which they work.
