Transnet wants 40% share of transport market
Transnet Freight Rail TFR) wants to increase its market share of the logistics' chain from 10% to more than 40% and Business Report says that it is hoping to achieve this within the next seven years.
This follows Jacob Zuma's announcement in the State of the Nation address last week that more than R300bn will be spent on improving the railways network in South Africa.
TFR's chief executive Siyabonga Gama says that the organisation is "on the point" of finalising its national rail plan that will respond to the future needs of the South African economy.
