Cognisant of the city’s tropical climatic conditions, typified by hot and humid weather throughout much of the year, the refurbishment aimed for a modern, light feel involving a complete redecoration and replacement of furniture, drapes, lighting, amenities and the addition of new timber-looking floors that better suits the city’s very humid conditions. Additionally, all rooms were fitted with upgraded air-conditioning units and the associated chilled water pipework and insulation were refurbished.

Located in the heart of the city, the Southern Sun Dar es Salaam hotel is just 14 kilometres from the airport, is in close proximity to the Diplomatic Quarter and Corporate market locations, is adjacent to the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre, and offers various leisure experiences. Perfect for both business and leisure travellers alike.

The hotel’s newly refurbished en-suite guest rooms cater to the needs of the modern traveller, including elegant decor, comfortable desks, and of course, complimentary Wi-Fi. In-room amenities include new 42” Smart TVs and a mini bar fridge as standard to all rooms. A fully-equipped business centre and modern conference room offers a range of services and equipment for hosting meetings.
