W&RSETA hosts inaugural Good Practice Awards
The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) recently hosted their inaugural Good Practice Awards (GPA) at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg.

The GPA was approved and established by the board in 2012 and its aim was to recognise best practice in the sector by rewarding companies, training providers and learners who have made a significant contribution to the sector through skills development.
The following GPA employer categories were available for nominations: Super Large, Large, Medium, Small and Non-Levy Paying companies; Established and Emerging Training Providers; and Women, People with Disabilities, NQF Level 2 & 3 Programmes, NQF Level 4 & 5 Programmes and an Overall Learner Achiever in the Learner Category.
Woolworths claimed the 1st prize, whilst Makro SA took the 2nd prize and Lewis Stores came in at 3rd in the Super Large Category. GP Retail Operations was the 1st prize winner under the Large Companies sub-category, whilst AutoZone and Bibi Cash and Carry took the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
Molly and Mason was the 1st prize winner for Non-Levy Paying Companies and New Balance South Africa took the 1st prize in the Medium Companies sub-category. All the learner nominees were presented with tablets in addition to the cash prizes.
