Northlink College stages Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
Northlink College Performing Arts Department will be staging Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat on Tuesday, 18 and Wednesday, 19 September, 2012 at 8.15pm at the Bellville Civic Theatre.
The production will star Tyron Zoutman as Joseph and feature the award-winning Eversdal Primary School choir under Petro Bell.
Director Kobus Hanekom chose Joseph based on its enormous popularity in the past, and knows that together with the choreography by Tyron Zoutman, it promises to be a spectacular, high-energy production for families to enjoy together.
He said: "Choosing Joseph also gives Northlink the chance to cast scholars in the show. The children add so much to this musical and they will gain valuable experience performing in a professional stage show."
A wide variety of musical styles
Filled with youthful energy, Joseph combines a wide variety of musical styles - everything from country to calypso to rock 'n' roll - in a series of memorable musical numbers. Described as a high-voltage extravaganza, Joseph includes such classic songs as the contemplative Any Dream Will Do, the Caribbean-infused Benjamin Calypso, the dazzling Jacob And Sons/Joseph's Coat, the rockabilly sensation Song Of The King (Seven Fat Cows) and the unforgettable Go, Go, Go Joseph.
Tickets are R50 for adults and R20 for students and scholars. For tickets and information call Michelle Maurice on +27 (0)21 524 2252.
