IAS offers three masterclasses before year end
'Legal Issues – What Every Marketer Should Know', presented by Danie Strachan, a partner at the law firm Adams & Adams, will cover themes ranging from understanding Intellectual Property to types of ownership, duration and infringement of IP. Space is still available for bookings.
Commenting on Adams & Adams's participation in the masterclass session, Johanna McDowell, the founder and managing director of the IAS says the company has the largest intellectual property law practice in the country, which is supported by a strong corporate and commercial practice.
“Adams & Adams’s clients range from entrepreneurs and technology start-ups to well-known multi-nationals. Clients often seek his advice regarding the establishment of an enterprise in South Africa, and he drafts and reviews agreements needed for their operations and to grow their businesses. He also assists clients in mergers and acquisitions,” she says.
The following session, taking place on 26 October 2016 at the IoD, will be a presentation on the feedback of the AdForum World Summit. The summit will cover advertising industry trends for 2017 and feedback from 25 intermediary consultants as well as 40 New York and Los Angeles based agencies. McDowell will be presenting this masterclass which will include research from Scopen agencyScope in 2016, highlighting trends in the marketing industry in South Africa.
Lastly, the final masterclass session of the year is scheduled to take place on 8 November and aims to cover the Entertainment and Media Outlook for South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya between 2016 and 2010. Vicky Myburgh, the media and entertainment leader at Price Waterhouse Coopers, will explain how new technology and changing business models are impacting media markets. You need a trusted resource to navigate the ever-evolving entertainment and media landscape.
For seven years, PwC’s Entertainment and media outlook has been providing commentary and insights centred on the shifts in advertising and consumer spending. Regardless of how you influence business decisions, the Outlook can help you understand industry trends, so you can capitalise on new opportunities.
Entertainment and media (E&M) companies in South Africa experienced another year of double-digit growth in 2015, 10.8% to R125.7bn. Once again, it was a strong year for internet access revenue, which led the rises, but TV and video, other major contributors, also outperformed previous figures.
