Laugh again with Nando's

This years' annual Nando's Comedy Festivals will be held at the ICC in Durban, the Teatro at Montecasino and the Baxter in Cape Town. The Durban festival will run from 23-25 July 2010, the Johannesburg one from 26 July to 1 August and Cape Town from 30 August to 19 September.

The international and local stars will offer stand-up comedy and in Johannesburg, for festival goers who prefer their nachos a little more spicy, the late-night, uncensored comedy of the 'UNhinged' Shows will feature seven comedians from all over the globe in a comedy gig that is not for the fainthearted or those under 18 years.

International laughs

The line-up in Durban and Johannesburg, includes international comedy heavyweights Pablo Francisco (Chile), Al Madigral (Mexico) and Bobby Lee (Korea). The Cape Town line-up will be announced later.

Comedy Showdown

The local stand-up competition 'Comedy Showdown' hosted at Parkers Comedy & Jive, Montecasino and is part of the festival's annual search for SA's new stand-up talent. With several heats and a final show on 28 July, the winner will get the chance to perform alongside the international stars at the final performance of the 'UN Comedy Show' on 1 August at the Teatro Montecasino.

"We at Nando's love nothing better than having a laugh, whether it's at our country's colourful politicians, our errant sports stars, our foolish foreign visitors, or even ourselves. So it was an obvious decision to bring the Comedy Festivals back to South Africa and we can't wait to see some of the best and funniest comedians on the international and local comedy circuit," says Carla Davis, national brand manager of Nando's.
