A year of expansion and success for Austell Laboratories
In the last three years the company has expanded its range by almost 600%, serving a primary market of general practitioners, pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, wholesalers and buying groups.
The Austell Private Market business is growing at 97.5% (IMS October 2008). “The successes achieved by Austell this year have required us to increase the sales team from 18 representatives to 24, with the addition of a Field Sales Manager to the existing four Regional Sales Manager,” says Riaan Botes, Sales and Marketing Manager for Austell. “The Marketing team has also been grown considerably with the addition of three new Product Managers, since March this year,” he adds. Botes says that since October this year the company has extended its market focus to include prescribing practitioners and specialists.
Although still a relatively small company Austell prides itself in its ability to distribute high volumes of products and meet significant demands within its range. Having successfully penetrated the market that extends to all registered domestic wholesalers, Austell is able to reach all active general practitioners and wholesalers. “Our public business has grown by 65% whereby 30% of the Austell products are on State Tender for the period 2007 - 2009,” says Botes.
Determined to maximise customer satisfaction and retain its credible and untarnished reputation Austell recently appointed an Operations Manager in November 2008 to assist with improving customer service in private and public sectors, as well as develop the operational functioning of the distribution channels. “We are aware that exceeding customer satisfaction is paramount to our continued success and our commitment to quality is apparent in all facets of our business,” concludes Botes.
