KLT engages the tourism sector in Tourism Month

Kruger Lowveld Tourism (KLT) kick-starts Tourism Month, in September, by engaging all tourism sector players in the area to develop a new marketing strategy that will take it into the future.

Having fulfilled its current five-year marketing strategy that it embarked on in 2010, KLT is in the process of developing a new strategy and is thus undertaking a series of roadshows to all corners of the region during Tourism Month to engage tourism sector players.

"As we are a member-based organisation it is our duty to ask all players in our tourism industry what they want the KLT to do for them going forward," says KLT's Executive Director and Marketing Consultant, Lisa Sheard.

"We have already identified some milestones that the KLT wants to achieve over the next two years, but we would like our members' input for additional focus and direction. What better time to do this than tourism month," she adds.

The KLT's new focus areas include raising the tourism profile of the Kruger Lowveld region through high-level public relations and media exposure, focusing on electronic tools to drive bookings through the Kruger Lowveld website, creating competitions and seasonal specials and elevating the "experiential" dimensions of the area.

This and more, including all of KLT's advocacy projects, will be discussed during the Tourism Month roadshows that are open to all tourism sector members (not only KLT members) in the region.

Roadshows

The roadshows will take place as follows:

Wednesday, 2 September: 10am at the Jock Sabie Lodge, Sabie.
Thursday, 3 September: 10am at the Hippo Hollow, Hazyview.
Tuesday, 8 September: 10am at the Orion Promenade Hotel, Nelspruit/Mbombela.
Wednesday, 9 September: 10am at the Jathira Gastehuis, Barberton.
Wednesday, 9 September: 2pm at the Buffalo Hotel, Hectorspruit.
Thursday, 10 September: 10am at the Thulamahashe Community Hall.

All tourism sector players are welcome to join KLT in this venture. For more information, contact KLT at 013 755 2069 or email moc.dlevwolregurk@ofni.
