Stock Options "Walks with Giants" for King James and Johnny Walker

The concept relied on athlete Haile Gebrselassie's ability to turn on a final burst of speed at the last minute, coming from third or fourth position to convincingly win his races. Researchers had to find footage of an event where this happened in suitably short screen time, and then negotiate rights to use the footage from this event.

Sounds easy? Not when you consider that most top-level events of this kind have a 'no-alcohol' policy, or reserve rights to use this content for sponsors only. "Add the complexity of finding the perfect shot to illustrate the concept - with all these factors in place, and you'll get an idea of the nuances of projects that really get us enthused and prove our expertise," according to the company's Images and Motion manager, Angela van der Merwe.

Stock Options worked closely with the renowned creative team at Giant Films in the search for the perfect combination of footage and available rights. The company drew on its expertise and international resources to deliver fully-cleared footage to agency King James, who produced engaging 00:60 and 00:30 TV spots for their client. The ads received extensive Pan-African flighting as well as internet exposure.

The Johnny Walker "Walk with Giants" campaign features such greats as Lewis Hamilton, Ranulph Fiennes, Jenson Button and Haile Gebrselassie.
