1. Where do you live, work and play?

Bryanston, Bryanston, Waterberg.

2. What’s your claim to fame?

I’m not famous. Some people just know me.

3. Describe your career so far.

A rollercoaster ride, but I’m blessed to have had doors open for me and opportunities that came on my path.

4. Tell us a few of your favourite things.

• I love sleep, but don’t get enough of it.
• I enjoy playing guitar, some slow blues jams.
• I love it when a song or mix just “comes together”.
• I like the beach and the bush.

5. What do you love about your industry?

There are a few things: Any job has its “cool” and “not so cool” moments; and I love the people, that feeling of being part of something only a handful people know about or see until it gets released to the world on TV or the internet.

6. Describe your average work day, if such a thing exists.

There’s not much average to my day, but I generally work on projects when the sun is out, and on admin when the moon is out.

7. What are the tools of your trade?

My brain! Haha! Ears: I need to hear; and my computer, without that we’ll need to go back to tape!

8. Who is getting it right in your industry?

There are many talented people doing great work!

9. List a few pain points the industry can improve on.

Paying suppliers on time!

10. What are you working on right now?

KFC, Hyundai, Steers, Spar, Manuva, Standard Bank, Student Flights, and a whole bunch more.

11. Tell us some of the buzzwords floating around in your industry at the moment, and some of the catchphrases you utter yourself.

VR and 3D. I don’t think I use catchphrases…

12. Where and when do you have your best ideas?

Mostly at night, or when a copywriter reads an awesome script for us to work on and I can see/hear were we can take it.

13. What’s your secret talent / party trick?

It’s a secret…

14. What would be found if we scrolled through your phone?

Random research about audio things and property.

15. What advice would you give to newbies hoping to crack it?

Make friends and share. I’d rather have 10% of a company that makes R100,000 than 100% of a company that makes R100.
