Petrol price set to rise again by 55c
The Minerals and Energy Department has announced that the petrol price is set to rise by 55 cents per litre on all grades while the wholesale price of diesel with a sulphur content of 0.005% will increase by 72 cents a litre.
The wholesale price for illuminating paraffin is set to rise by 55 cents a litre, single maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin by 74 cents a litre.
According to a statement released by the department on Wednesday, the increase is due to the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin increase.
Last month, the department increased 91 octane unleaded petrol by 68 cents a litre, 93 octane unleaded and Lead Replacement Petrol by 67 cents a litre, and 95 octane petrol increased by 66 cents a litre.
The wholesale price of diesel with a sulphur content of 0.005% was increased by 130 cents a litre.
