Laugh it off with victory t-shirts

With the lengthy legal battle over the production of the now infamous "Black Labour" T-shirt behind them, Laugh It Off, together with online marketplace bidorbuy, will be auctioning off 100 limited edition "Black Labour Constitutional Court Victory" t-shirts.

On 27 May, the company won a three year struggle against brewery giant, SABMiller, over its tongue-in-cheek T-shirt message associated with Carling Black Label.

The victory t-shirts, available at www.bidorbuy.co.za, feature the Black Labour logo on the front and a special Scales of Justice logo with the text: "Laugh It off Constitutional Victory 2005" on the back.

The auction is charity based, with all the proceeds from the 100 T-shirt's going to the Janet Smith Foundation, which cares for individuals coping with the disease of addiction.

The lucky auction winners will also get a Laugh It Off Chronicles 2005 Calendar, featuring photographs by Obie Oberholzer, which includes 12 of Laugh It Off's best-ever "brand jams."

Andy Higgins, managing director of bidorbuy says: "We are glad to be a part of this exciting project as it not only celebrates an important court ruling on the freedom of speech, but through the proceeds of this auction we are able to make a significant contribution to the community."

Bidding on the T-shirts has already begun and a starting amount of R150.00 has been set. Participation in the auction is open to anyone over the age of 18 and only requires registration on the bidorbuy web site.
