The Construction New Media Awards 2002
During an extremely entertaining ceremony on Friday 1st March at Artscape in Cape Town, Andries Odendaal of Wireframe Studio collected the coveted Grand Prix for the Construction New Media Awards 2002. He will be going to Ubemorgen in Vienna to spend a week with Hans Bernhard.
Gold winners are Wireframe Studio, radarboy studio (2), type01, Redshift, Delapse, Koeisang and Concept Interactive.

The judges, Joshua Davis [Praystation - New York], Tom Roope [Tomato - London], Lewis Blackwell [Getty Images - London], and Hans Bernhard [Ubermorgen -Vienna], presented the finalists and winners at the ceremony. They were particularly impressed with the quality of the Student work and awarded two Gold winners in the category that was judged across all 4 disciplines. In total they awarded 8 Gold winners as well as the Grand Prix.
In its second year running, the Construction New Media Awards, a Cape Town-based initiative organised in association with the International Design Indaba, has aimed to celebrate and elevate the status of South African new media design. Having our work judged by our international peers can only achieve this and it is fitting to see that this highly acclaimed list of judges expressed that they would have been proud to have produced the award-winning work themselves.
