#Newsmaker: Jann Henderson joins Mickey Llew's organic search division

Jann Henderson has been appointed as the organic search lead and digital analyst to head up and grow the organic search division at performance marketing and SEO agency, Mickey Llew. Her appointment is part of the business's drive to scale and build on its success as the agency of choice for brands seeking an effective partner to implement organic search and content strategies.

During her eight-year career, Henderson has built exciting digital and mobile marketing strategies with proven lead generation, and has experience in brand-building for a multitude of top brands in diverse industries.

“I’m excited to join Mickey Llew at a time when the agency is growing its portfolio and its footprint, following its recent move into Dynamic Technologies House in Melrose,” Henderson says. “The agency differentiates itself as an expert in organic search, and I look forward to building on its already established reputation, helping to create content strategies that deliver exceptional results for our clients.”

Here, she talks more about the new role, her career so far and the new strategies she plans to implement.

Congrats on your appointment. How do you feel about it?

Thank you so much – I’m really excited! The best part is that work doesn’t feel like work – I get paid to do what I love! I’m in excellent company.

When is/was the effective date?

I was appointed as of 1 September 2019.

What excites you most about the agency and where it’s going?

I’ve joined at such an exciting time – with the agency having lined up some really creative projects in the months to come. Our focus is on building the agency’s digital business offering while supporting our incredible clients as we grow their businesses.

We’re developing and executing search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies and conversion rates by focusing on technical SEO and content strategies aligned to performance. My immediate focus is on expanding our suite of digital services and SEO management.

What do you love most about your career in marketing and digital?

I love that digital marketing provides data that we can extract, simplify and interpret for our clients. I love that, within the digital environment, the more you dig the more you’re able to uncover. We’re able to find creative digital solutions that combine marketing theory, specialist digital expertise, monitoring and measurement that allow us to optimise and increase ROI. This is what keeps what we do interesting – it’s a state of constant learning.

Any career highlights you’re particularly proud of?

I’ve been lucky enough to work in environments that have been extremely rewarding throughout my career. I’m proud to have worked on the implementation of digital strategies that are created in alignment with overall marketing objectives; user-friendly and responsive websites designed specifically for maximum conversions; generating clear content strategies that drive consumers to client websites; and with amazing people who have supported me through all of this. It’s all about seeing the positive results within analytics form a sound digital strategies – and I’m excited to see what’s next!

Tell us a bit about your experience and how this has equipped you for your new position.

My experience allows me to combine research, analytics and scientific and measurable data, to develop targeted and customisable digital marketing strategies. I believe that this approach and my experience across industries have the potential to transform our clients’ businesses within the digital sphere.

What are you most looking forward to/enjoying so far?

When I joined, I immediately felt an incredibly positive and supportive agency culture. Everyone is focussed on doing amazing work while not sacrificing culture and the creation of a healthy and happy environment. I’m really grateful to call myself part of this dynamic team of specialists.

What’s at the top of your to-do list (at work)?

My focus is on growing our digital offering, exploring how advancements in the digital space can support (and be supported by) what we do and what we currently offer clients. That’s the main goal, but just above that on my to-do list is conquering the office coffee machine!

Tell us something about yourself not generally known?

I’m generally a really private person who savours my downtime spent with family and four-legged friends.
