The user experience
As of 17 June 2016, Snapcart will have been in business for seven months and it really does feel like we’ve given birth to a transportation innovation which is growing strong and healthy!
We’ve worked on refining a lot, but being totally mobile is not the only element of the user experience. The bottom line is all the elements that could potentially reach your customer should work together. Here are some tips we’ve put together if you need to beef up your business strength in any of these areas:
Website
Your website is your online business card and getting it wrong is like supplying the incorrect contact number. So, what are the elements that make the most engaging and effective website landing page? Or as Dave Chaffeyasks, is a “Perfect Landing Page” even possible? Click on the link and you’ll find some nuts and bolts information about how to make web design work for you.
Paul Maritz, CEO at Pivotal, nails it on the head when he says: “It’s about catching customers in the act, and providing highly relevant and highly contextual information.” Give your potential customer what they want, in the language they understand, housed on a website made for mobile. Don’t be put off or swayed by visions of elaborate web design, very few people are on your page to rate your design skills.
Apps
If you have an app-based product, you’ll know that here’s where things get interesting. We’ve found this overview from Just Creative very helpful, not least because they speak our language when they say in point one, “Focus on the User Experience” followed by finding ways of ensuring security for your users.
Something else we’ve found important is intuitive navigation; setting up your app in a way that users can learn as they go. Think of your potential customer as having as little time in their day as you do, that’s a good starting point.
Social media
Social media is where you win the heart of your audience; tell them your story and ask them about theirs. To help you traverse the social media jungle you’ll find no better advice than from the people at Social Media Examiner. Whichever social media platforms you choose to use, the first rule of thumb is authenticity. Be yourself and your followers will appreciate you and keep coming back.
Email and phone
Yes, other forms of communication do exist outside of the digital realm. Back to the point of authenticity. Any part of the online user experience that doesn’t have an email address and phone number is automatically flagged as suspicious by a viewer. Even if they don’t actually want to email or phone you, they want to know that they can.
