SABC statement refutes Independent Newspapers story

There are media statements, and then there are media statements. On Wednesday afternoon, 7 April 2010, the SABC issued a statement refuting the allegations by the Independent Newspaper Group on the appointment of Sefako Nyaka. Bizcommunity.com presents it here in full.
SABC statement refutes Independent Newspapers story

    The statement in full :

SABC REFUTES ALLEGATIONS ON THE APPONTMENT [sic] OF MR.SEFAKO NYAKA

Johannesburg, 07 April 2010 - The report carried in today's various titles of the Independent Newspapers [sic] Group is disturbing as it is totally false.

It is indeed a shame that the Independent Newspaper Group continues with its questionable campaign to peddle lies about the SABC's Acting Group Executive: News & Current Affair [sic], Mr. Phil Molefe.

Mr. Sefako Nyaka has not been appointed to any position at the SABC's news operations. There was never an [sic] intention to hire him and that remains the situation.

SABC News management cannot understand why the Independent Group makes it its business to run the affairs of the SABC newsroom.

If the newspaper's preoccupation with internal SABC matters can ever be justified, then we urge that nothing but the truth be applied during these reports.

Mr. Ceaser [sic] Molebatsi, newly appointed SAFM AM Live Presenter, was appointed solely on merit.
