UK tabloid editor resigns over royal phone tapping

UK: Andy Coulson, editor of Britain's biggest selling tabloid News of the World resigned on Friday night, 26 January 2007, after the jailing of one of his journalists for illegally phone tapping the royal family, reports The Guardian. Both these events are expected to "increase pressure on the Press Complaints Commission to rein in the perceived excesses of some of its members".
