To celebrate 2010 FIFA World Cup, Joburgers and Capetonians have different ideas - in Johannesburg, they will be dancing in the clean streets and in Cape Town, they will be streaking.

TK and Vusi - two local fans with a large following on Facebook - are calling on Capetonians to join them in a mass streak planned for Thursday 3 June 2010 in Cape Town but to keep FIFA off their tails; the location and time of the streak will only be disclosed on the day. It is however around the Cape Town stadium to show support for Bafana Bafana and Western Cape activities. A limited amount of modesty guards such as flags from the various participating countries and pot plants will be provided on arrival to those who decide to take part at the meeting point. Pikitup's campaign for Joburg Clean Up Day on 5 June 2010 is getting growing support from SABC 1, SABC 2, e.tv, Sowetan, The Star, The Citizen, Caxton Community Newspapers, YFM, Jozi FM, Eldos FM, Talk Radio 702 and Highveld Stereo. The campaign is aimed at ensuring a cleaner city ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and beyond. In addition to the media, the Golden Lions have put its weight behind the campaign.

"Celebrities, religious groups, schools and businesses have also shown their support for the campaign and we are expecting over 60 000 people to pitch in for Clean Up Day this year," says Zami Nkosi, MD of Pikitup. Residents wishing to take part on Pikitup Day are invited to go to www.pikitup.co.za and register or find it on Facebook and Twitter.

The Takalani Sesame Muppets will display their support for the World Cup by learning the Diski dance at a vibrant street party in Houghton on 4 June 2010 in West Street, between 1st Avenue and Houghton Drive from 11am to 3pm.

Professional dancers will teach the Muppets, staff members from SABC Education, Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM) and other local businesses the moves. During this display, SDM will hold a blood drive, sponsored by the Blood Bank to boost the blood donation drive.
