Flying the flag

According to James Daniels, executive creative director of EuroRSCG, "it's a huge honour to be part of the greatest advertising festival in the world".

Anne van Rensburg, Media Director, The Jupiter Drawing Room says "I am honoured to have been selected as a SA Cannes Lions 2010 judge and am particularly delighted at the opportunity to be part of this prestigious and inspiring creative event."

Ivan Johnson, executive creative director, Network BBDO says "I've judged Clios and D&AD but I must admit I have been looking forward to this one for a while. There's nothing like the glamour of Cannes and I feel honoured to have made it onto the jury."

"I am delighted and extremely honoured to be chosen as a judge for Cannes Lions. I relish the opportunity not only to view some of the best designs from around the world but also to interact with top designers from other regions and experience how they see our industry,” comments Glenda Venn of It's a Go!

"It is a great honour to be part of this. I am delighted. What is great is that South African creative directors are being recognised globally," says Damon Stapleton of TBWA/Hunt/Lascaris.

From Ogilvy, Fran Luckin says, "Being on the film jury at Cannes is, without a doubt, going to be one of the more intense learning experiences of my life so far. Thank you, Cinemark, for nominating me."

"This is a very interesting time to be judging awards shows, I look forward to representing SA at Cannes," says Conn Bertish, ECD JWT Cape Town.

Justin Gomes, co-founder and creative director of FoxP2 comments, "It is a huge honour to represent South Africa on the Cannes judging panel. The press category has always been a particularly strong one for South Africa as our smaller production budgets are not as harshly felt as in the television category. Here's hoping SA brings home the metal!"

All have previous local and/or international judging experience and will provide the industry with their uniquely South African creative take on entries. Cinemark will have a dedicated online section on the Awards, updated regularly with relevant contact details, as well as information on what is offered to delegates and entrants.
