Senior C# JavaScript AI Backend Engineer

My client is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer.

Not someone who can quote architecture patterns from conference slides. Someone who's worked with them in the real world.

You've seen microservices accelerate a business—and you've seen them turn into a maze of unnecessary complexity. You've built and operated distributed systems at scale. You've investigated production incidents, fixed critical issues under pressure, and learned that every architectural choice comes with trade-offs.

You understand that great engineering isn't about applying patterns everywhere—it's about knowing when they add value and when they don't.

You'll likely thrive here if you have:

• 8–10+ years of experience building and operating production-grade backend systems
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
1. Microservices
2. Domain-driven design (DDD)
3. Test-driven development (TDD)
4. Event-driven architecture
5. CQRS
6. .NET / C#
7. TypeScript
8. Go
9. Node.js
10. Saga patterns
11. Circuit breakers
12. Clean architecture
• The judgment to know when not to use these approaches

Bonus points for:

• Frontend experience with React, Next.js, or similar frameworks
• Production experience with AI-powered systems, including:
1. LLMs
2. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
3. AI agents
4. Evaluation frameworks
5. Model context protocol (MCP)
6. Vector databases
7. Prompt engineering
8. Cost optimization
9. AI observability
• Experience leading small engineering teams, mentoring developers, or owning a product domain end-to-end

Deep experience with cloud-native platforms and practices:

• AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Containers and orchestration platforms
• Infrastructure as code (IaC)
• CI/CD pipelines
