This October, OFM is taking its PinkTober campaign to new heights with more fundraising events, a wider reach across central South Africa, a new beneficiary, and an ambitious R1m fundraising goal in support of people affected by breast cancer.
Under the theme Pushing Up PinkTober, OFM is dedicating its time, energy, and airwaves throughout October to raising funds for Cansa and Reach for Recovery, with every contribution helping provide support to those impacted by breast cancer.
A major highlight of this year’s campaign is the expansion of Bowling for Boobies, with nine fundraising events taking place across central South Africa. From Bloemfontein and Welkom to Kimberley, Vryburg, and Potchefstroom, communities will have the opportunity to come together for a fun night out while making a meaningful difference.
Teams of four can enter for R2,500, with the full entry amount donated to OFM’s PinkTober beneficiaries. Each Bowling for Boobies event includes a Beefmaster Beef Burger dinner, complimentary gifts and refreshments, as well as opportunities to win prizes for the best-dressed team and best team name – plus plenty of bragging rights for the team with the most gees.
OFM marketing and sales manager Anchen Lintvelt says the station is committed to making this year’s campaign bigger and more impactful than ever. “We are so excited and very committed to going the absolute extra mile this PinkTober month to create a bigger and better experience for everybody who will be entering a team at any of our nine Bowling for Boobies events across central South Africa! This way we will be able to raise more, donate more, and help more!”
The addition of Reach for Recovery to this year’s beneficiaries means that OFM’s fundraising efforts will reach even further, supporting organisations that play an important role in assisting people affected by breast cancer.
OFM is also encouraging listeners and communities to get involved beyond the bowling events. Pushing Up PinkTober is about more than simply turning central South Africa pink; it is about turning that visibility into action, fundraising, and meaningful support.

- 14 October – Potchefstroom
- 15 October – Vanderbijlpark
- 21 October – Klerksdorp
- 22 October – Vryburg
- 28 October – Hartswater
- 29 October – Kimberley
