From 28 September to 16 October, The East Coast Radio Fugitive will be on the move across KwaZulu-Natal with R400,000 up for grabs.
Listeners will need to follow the clues released on air, work out where The ECR Fugitive could be hiding and, if they find him, ask the all-important question: Are You The East Coast Radio Fugitive?
Across the three-week chase, he will move around the province, with clues, sightings, listener theories, surprise appearances and digital updates keeping KZN guessing.
The campaign forms part of ECR’s 30th birthday celebration, 30 Years Because of You, recognising the listeners and communities who have been part of the station’s story since 1996.
Mzuvele Mthethwa, managing director of East Coast Radio, says: “Thirty years of East Coast Radio is 30 years of KZN stories, voices, music, laughter and memories, and none of that happens without our listeners.
“The East Coast Radio Fugitive is part of ECR history, so bringing it back for our 30th birthday felt right. There’s R400,000 to be won through the chase, but we’re also putting another R100,000 into celebrating the people who made these 30 years possible: our listeners.”
While KZN searches for The Fugitive, ECR also wants to find out more about the people on the other side of the radio.
As part of 30 Years Because of You, listeners will be invited to tell ECR more about themselves online and stand a chance to win their share of an additional R100,000. Because after 30 years of ECR being part of KZN’s story, it’s time for KZN to tell ECR a little more about theirs.
