Flight 4Z 951 was operated by an Embraer E190 carrying 75 passengers and crew, according to the airline. The pilots stopped the aircraft on the runway in line with standard procedures after the tyre burst during the take-off roll.

Airlink arranged buses and mobile stairs to transfer passengers from the aircraft to a replacement plane, which was being prepared for departure.

Airlink apologised for the delay, disruption and inconvenience caused to travellers.
