Digesting, shopping, testing...

So we've had some time to digest the fact that we may have been er, digesting something... anything... other than cow with our burger buns, and the NCC has urged us to seek redress for this blatant breach of the CPA. But before we take up arms and go address our local supermarket, we should know that we may not, as Chris Charter explains, have a chicken leg to stand on.

That said, we have a new sheriff overseeing our food safety now, as the international Intertek has acquired the FSA.

In other news, the textile industry is looking cautiously optimistic; SMEs say that sustainability is crucial but unaffordable; and Standard Bank's group CE is retiring.

If you're socially innovative, the SAB Foundation has just the competition for you! If you're App-wardly mobile with a love for shopping, share your best buys through Found Shopping.

For the in-store marketer, here are 10 golden rules for in-store promotions. And if you'd really like to know how well your product will go down with shoppers, Martin Kingdon tells us to test the test.

Happy digesting!

Shan Radcliffe, Group Head - Retail
