Show profile Hide profileI have always been a creative and enjoy learning and collaborating with other creative minds. For the past two years I have been the studio manager at The Himalayas Studio/INNR CHLD run by producers Kurtis "The Arcade" Mckenzie (Kendrick Lamar, Migos, Maroon 5, Iggy Azalea, Khalid) and David "Yeti" Sprecher (Doja Cat, Becky G, They) in Los Angeles, California. Starting as an intern, I was eventually asked to oversee all studio operations. Along with managing bookings for recording sessions and photo shoots, corresponding with brands and artists; I also restructured the studio, developed marketing content to advertise the studio to various clients. I additionally produced content for each of the producer's social media accounts, as well the studio Instagram. I was able to help facilitate sound library endorsements with my knowledge as a sound engineer and musician for the past 6 years. I chose to move back to South Africa because I am passionate about seeing Africa develop and believe that we are capable of competing with any market, if skilled individuals are given the appropriate opportunities. I am skilled, determined, hard working and always willing to learn a new skill set. I do feel that with the knowledge that I have acquired over the last 10 years working and studying in Johannesburg, London and Los Angeles; I would be a great asset to your organization.
While attending Musicians Institute I received an Associate of Arts in Vocals with an emphasis in Audio Engineering. I additionally have an honours degree in Psychology from Queen Mary University of London. I am also well acquainted with music licensing and publishing and other aspects of the music business.
As a member of Grammy U, I was given the opportunity to be mentored by various industry professionals chosen by The Recording Academy. These experiences turned out to be fundamental to the development of not only my musicianship but my understanding of the music business.
Working part time at The Recording Academy's non-profit, The Grammy Museum; I not only developed a better understanding of interacting with musicians but also working in a cooperate environment. I was trained in music event planning and encouraged to be informed about issues regarding music advocacy. I thoroughly enjoyed working at The Grammy Museum, as it was a great opportunity to not only learn about the music logistics of a music corporation but also see how music was used to create social change.
I am passionate about what I do, I am a fast learner who is organized and who works well under high-pressure situations. I am also just very bubbly person who loves to work with people.
