Nabeelah Hendricks
I'm currently a freelance background extra for film, television and commercials. My work experience ranges from video store cashier, to English tutor, to event volunteer. I've also done some dance performances at events. My education experience ranges from film student, to sound designer, to TEFL certified, to social media, admin and HR expert. I love to try new things and find joy in each and every one of them.

Show profile Hide profileI matriculated in 2013 with a 75% average. Thereafter, I attended film school at AFDA, majoring in sound design. In 2015 I began my first part-time job as a cashier for a video store called Video 2000, up until 2017. I graduated with a BA in Motion Picture Medium in 2017 and made it onto the Dean's List.
After that, my desire to travel led to pursuing my TEFL Certification in 2018. I won three top performer awards as an Online English Facilitator at a company called Pangea Outsourcing.
Having successfully stabilized my financial situation, I felt it was a good time to take a break and truly take care of my mental health and well-being. But I'm not one to stay idle for long. During my time off I have received certifications in Social Media Marketing, Personal Branding, Administrative Foundations, and Human Resources Foundations through LinkedIn Learning in order to stay up to date with training.
I've also done volunteer work between 2015 and 2019, for various geek conventions such as FanCon (Cape Town Comic Con), EGE (Electronic and Gaming Expo), and UCON (University Geek Convention). I've done some kpop dance cover performances at those conventions, as well as at the annual Korean Culture Festival.
Throughout 2019 I've done background extra work in a Pepsi Thailand commercial, and the TV series 'Our Girl S4'.
Some of my personal interests include meditating, home decorating, some gaming, reading books, Korean shopping, cats, and I love coffee.
In 5 years' time I see myself being a successful working woman who moves where the journey takes me. To me, it's not about dedicating yourself to one thing for the rest of your life. It's about adapting and enjoying whatever is right for you in the present moment, creating memories, and gaining experiences.
