DUTIES: I marketed and promoted all Local and International Releases from Sheer Music, to ALL press and media nationwide (radio, press, online, TV, etc.) . I travelled to the international conferences such as Midem, Popkomm and SXSW with Mark and conducted my own meetings with labels, distributors and so forth. I looked after the physical and digital releases for Sheer Music. also worked on the marketing of all our digital releases.
I looked after the production and sales of Sheer Music releases, and thus dealt with the buyers from Musica, Look & Listen and MFP presented to our IRIS sales team on a weekly basis
DEVELOPMENT WITHIN SHEER: In 2000 I started as Receptionist at Sheer Group.
In January 2001 I became PA to Damon Forbes and later in the year started assisting with marketing the Jazz Releases for Sheer Sound.
In 2002, in addition to assisting with Marketing the Jazz and African releases for Sheer Sound, I was coordinating studio recordings for the likes of Sipho Gumede and Gito Baloi to record their new albums.
Towards the end of 2002 I moved over to SHEER MUSIC and my first album I started marketing and working the PR for, has to date been the biggest selling dance album for Sheer Music: "DJ Sammy - Heaven".
Over the next 3 years I developed from PR and Promotions, to Label Manager for SHEER MUSIC working on all the local and international pop, rock and dance releases for Sheer Music. Then added on in 2007 I also became Digital Content Manager along with being a Label Manager .
