In 2020, I registered Bioresus Global NPC and managed projects and adhering to NEMA and Health and Safety regulations and legislation. I am an creative person who work systematically to achieve end results. I am good at solving problems and diverting projects towards a changed fase to keep the quality of outcomes in place.
Show profile Hide profileI began my career with a background in Art from Pretoria Technikon, completing my N3 in the Printing Industry in 1991. Over the next ten years, I worked as a Graphic Designer, creating corporate identities and brand-building strategies for various companies, working on Adobe Suite.
For two years, I published a newspaper, the Gallant News. My career then transitioned to the medical, pharmaceutical, and chemical waste industries, where I served as a Healthcare Risk Waste Consultant. My responsibilities were a range of sales, risk policy implementation, waste assessments, inspections, contract compilation, ordering consumables and personal protective equipment, managing employee medical surveillance, and developing healthcare risk waste training manuals. During this time, I assisted Provincial Health Departments in establishing healthcare risk waste policies and procedures, as these regulations were still emerging.
In 2012, I founded Biocin Pty/Ltd, leading initiatives such as environmental impact assessments, public participation processes, and applying for an Incineration permit. My work involved conducting feasibility studies, budget forecasting, asset management, business scorecards, procurement, corporate social investment, operational planning, product development, personnel management, vendor relations, and applying for appropriate industrial zoning. Additionally, I spearheaded the launch of an Autoclave for medical waste sterilization, familiarizing myself with Occupational Health and Safety Risk Regulations, ISO Standards, and Environmental laws. I also partnered with a company specializing in waste transportation, ensuring compliant handling of clients’ waste. I wrote Standard Operational Procedures, took care of the employee occupational health and safety files, and continuous microbial monitoring of trucks and bins. I set up a marketing strategy, securing an income for the newly established facility.
At Gateway Health Institute NPC, I pursued studies in environmentally sustainable goals, studied Environmental Law, Municipal Waste Management, Water Management, Groundwater contamination, Public Health, OHS, Solar Energy, Project Management at different universities, and ESF (tools, and financial application), fundamentals through the World Bank Group. In 2020, I registered Bioresus Global, a non-profit company, managed projects, and adhered to NEMA and Health and Safety regulations and legislation. The focus of our directors included drug abuse prevention, social upliftment, early childhood development, family planning, skills development, recycling projects, water resource skills development, determining needs analysis by inspecting water security, waste management, and road infrastructure.
My career as a Healthcare Risk Waste Consultant got me involved with environmental regulations, and I realized the influence of wastewater and air pollution on the environment. I got involved with Sustainable Circularity and have cooperated in an environmentally non-compliant case in the Western Cape. My knowledge of National and International Environmental laws and regulations is well-established. I want to enroll for my master’s in public policy with environmental sustainability as my primary focus. As an In-Country Ambassador for Climate Education in South Africa, I am confident that my diverse background and expertise will add significant value to your company and contribute to its growth.
